This is it! Building Materials City (BMC) The place where our company (KJ Eng) and Tenaga National Engineering Coorp (TNEC) join ventured and secured the job in Abu Dhabi. A project work more than RM100 Mil. Well, with the average tempreture of 45 deg C, they sure needs air conditioning XD.
Hmm… this is the first time our company have the feel of being a main-contractor of a project. All these while we are juz as a sub-contractor. Somehow, our character still not able to switch to be a main-con. We still do things like we are a slave to the client, where we should be the master and ask those damn con-man-tractor do all the work.
About this BMC, according to this webbie: link, "A company official said the exchange would trade cement, steel, iron, wood products and related materials." So maybe it’s called Building Materials City. hmm… And, "The city, with a total area of 23 hectares, will host developers,
engineering and consultancy firms, interior decorating firms and
associated companies. The project includes 17 office towers, 32 residential towers, a
shopping mall, a hotel and showrooms and warehouses
for building
materials." That is quite something huh. We are going to supply 30,000 refrigerant ton hours to the whole BMC. It’ll be a challenge, no… it’ll be a great great great great challenge for us.

Late last year, my direct manager has been talking to me about going to the Middle East. I thought it was just a dream, but today it has been realized. Abu Dhabi it is.
Abu Dhabi - the capital of the United Arab Emirates or short UAE, is said to be the world’s richest city by this website. Just 2 hours drive from the former richest city of the word Dubai;- "Welcome to Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates and the
richest city in the world. The emirate’s 420,000 citizens, who sit on
one-tenth of the planet’s oil and have almost $1 trillion invested
abroad, are worth about $17 million apiece. (A million foreign workers
don’t share in the wealth.) Yet most people couldn’t find Abu Dhabi on
a map." LOL at the last statement which is true. 9 our 10 ppl you ask does not know where the heck is this crazy place. But in the next few years, I gurantee it’ll be on the lips of world.

Yes, I know it’s been almost a week after the oil price hiked. But I can’t stop to write and express my thoughts on this issue.
Malaysia. A country blessed with tons of natural minerals. Oil INCLUDED! Why the hell do we have to follow the world oil market? Why can’t we just produce the petrol for our internal usage and not processing them and sell to developed country at a high price? Do we really need to import those fluctuating crude oil to process here and sell to our poor citizen? WHY!
I know, we can change our lifestyle and use less petrol by traveling less with personal car. But look at our GOD DAMN IT public transportation in the whole country!!! Yes, yes, yes, we have LRT in our capital, but what about those outskirts??? Public bus? Taxi? Or Kereta Lembu???
In the outskirt we need to wait 1/2hr-1hr and sometime hours and hours for the bus to come. Do you want us to waste our time waiting for the bus there? Or pay a high price for patrol to drive yourself? Also this - yeah yeah, we got air conditioned bus for the passenger to enjoy. Air conditioning with added diesel flavor??
Hmm… we got another nice public transportation - the KTM. KL-KB for 10 hours??? Not to forget, the breakdowns, power failure and flooding to be added to the traveling time.
So, you ask us to change our lifestyle? IMPROVE THE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION FOR GOD SAKE!!!!!!!!!!!

Not realizing the time flow, it will be  3 months since the day I set foot in KK. Bringing my thoughts back to the first day I reached here, "What a nice and peaceful place this is. The sky is broad, the road is broad, the sea is broad. It must be a nice place to live here." Well… today i still feel the same way about KK. Although my work place kinda sucked, but I’ll compensate tat with the nice atmosphere here ^^

Well, well, well, ever since I reached KK, I’ve little time to go sightseeing and travel around. Staying with my project engineer here, he is not really interested in traveling around. (maybe wanna save cost?) But is life here is changed ever since my beloved Furby (or perhaps I shall call her as "Bibi" here :p) come and give a visit in KK =^-^= No more boring days staying at home and watch TV and hang on the laptop. My traveling life have sprouted! Hehe. Although she was here in KK for only 3 days and 2 nights, but we had a happy and sweet time traveling around. ^^

First stop we went to Mount Kinabalu - The World Heritage Site. I rented a super economical Perodua Kancil 660 manual drive to climb the 4000+m mount KK. :p What to do laa, no money, dun sue me! hehe… Trip took 2+ hours and it was not a bad drive there. Lots of nice scenes on the way. Hmm… there we visited the Mount Kinabalu National Park (place where mount climbers start their journey) and Poring Hot Spring (some nice place together there, the hot spring, butterfly farm, canopy walkway, kipungit waterfall, bat cave and  langanan waterfall) Took a nice nice natural hot spring bath there with my Bibi. ^^ At dawn, we make our journey down and stop by a famous makan place "Gayang Seafood Restaurant". Had a delicious Giant Tiger Prawn there.^^ The next day we went around KK town. Visited the Day Market and went shopping in 2 of the most visited shopping mall in KK. Lunch was by the sea at the Waterfront. Nice place to hang out day and night. Sit by the wooden platform extended to the sea. Food is so-so lar, but at a ok price. Suppose to go for either a Korean or Japanese food but all closed at 2-5pm =.=""" By dawn, Bibi have to go check in at the airport. After checking in, we took a fast drive to Tanjung Aru Beach which is only beside the airport. Superb sunset view there. ^^ But sad to face the truth, Bibi have to go back to KL already… T.T But we had a really nice time together in KK. Hope she can come over again soon if my project is still running here.
Pics for the trip: Mount Kinabalu, KK Town and Tanjung Aru

A week after Bibi’s visit, I finish up the itinerary I made for Bibi’s visit which we did not have time to do it. Went on a one man trip to Manukan Island - one of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Parks. Trip there by boat is around 40 mins. Hm… overall it’s a nice place to relax, swim with the fishies, snorkel with the coral and some adventure. Should be much nicer if Bibi is with me T.T
Pics for the trip: Manukan island

A week after Manukan, two of my colleague from office came to KK to help out in the project. During the weekend, 3 silly and nothing better to do guys decided to go Island visit! Haha… yes again I’m going to the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park, but not Manukan this time, it’s Sapi Island! Boat ride to the island this time is horrifying yet thrilling :p The sea is pretty rough and we experienced some high flying cruise through the wave. *swt* On the boat, opposite me was a couple from Hong Kong. The guy was carrying their 1-2 year old baby and the girl is so scared and cling to the guy. Everytime the boat fly, the girl scream and hit the guy and blame why do he suggest to go out to the island. But surprisingly the baby did not cry throughout the ride. And the baby was kinda cute expression. Hahaha. At Sapi, we did not see much coral or fishes due to the big waves. The crystal clear water now is all blurry =.= But we did went to snorkel at the restricted area. There the water is clear and still. Can see many fishes swimming round and round us ^^ But after some time the life guard come to chase us away from there :( Sapi is much smaller than Manukan. My recommendation after 2 island trip: go to Manukan. More coral and fish to see and the beach is longer and the sea bed is not deep ^^

Well well well….. my very first 2008 resolution. Go to Thailand!!!

Hehehe… not to deny that I was very happy that I go to our neighbour country for the first time, it’s also sponcered by my company!!! Syok syok! hehe :p

Furby also joined the trip with us but at a cost >.<" Why cant KJ sponcer also our partners too…. it will be the best! Anyway… we had our very best time there. But the schedule was super tight and have to bear the morning call every morning =.=" Hmm… we managed to visit some very interesting places like Coral Island in Pattaya, Dawn’s Temple, Cha Tuk Cak Weekend Market, MBK mall in Bankok. But we also waste alot of precious time visiting places like the "GEM STONE FACTORY" which is so expensive, the "LEATHER FACTORY" which also not cheap =.=

Hope that our next trip to Thailand will be much nicer ;)

Yesterday was my darkest day in 2008 =.= my dark story begins with… after lunch, my ciggy ran out of supply. naturally i went to the counter of the restaurant i had lunch to restock them. but, to my realise… they dun sell 14’s pack in KK!!!!!!!!! i ran from shop to shop for about 15 mins… then i gave up =.= no ciggy after lunch today T.T yesterday was the first time i drive in KK, i drove my manager to lunch. everything was going fine until suddenly my manager say: Pump Petrol! then i immedietly turn over to the petrol station, after pump pump pump, i start the engine and manuver the way out of the petrol station. at the junction, there was a black vios waiting to exit to the main road. so i stopped behind him. naturally, i look to my right to see the traffic that is coming. it was like 15-30 seconds past, i did not turn to look at the vios at all. i tot he must have exited coz it’s so long already. hence i lifted the brake paddle and step on the acceleration paddle, at that very moment, my manager was shouting his mind off: STOP STOP! CAR IN FRONT! =.= not managed to brake in time, the lousy wira kissed the ass of the smart vios. =.= when we got down to see the condition of the vios, the rear bumper hinges snapped out at the right side and some scratches here and there =.= what a luck! bang ppl liow means have to pay money lah!!!! RM100 flying away ~$~ back at to my office, i need to fix up my table myself. since i’m new at KK project, i do not have a table. but…. the site office has no air cond!!!! damn…. after fixing up the table i was totally drenched in sweat =.= 5pm… yay! can go back lah… enough of the tough day… lets go back to rest… once reach home… i found out that my dirty clothes is piling up like mini mount KK =.= so i throw all of them into the 2-in-1 washing machine available at the company apartment. that was the 2nd time using the machine, so i decided to test the machine capability ‘;..;’ i set the washing temp to 60 deg, drying setting to max! not even crossing my mind that i have white and coloured clothes in the machine =.= i pressed start!!!!! then i go to have a small nap… when i woke up… i found out that all my white clothes was dyed with blue spots T.T
